On 18 April, the 6A coke oven at Baosteel's Phase III 6A/6B Coke Oven In-Situ Overhaul and Renovation Project, undertaken by MCC5, successfully produced its first batch of coke. This marks the project's full commissioning.

The on-site overhaul and upgrade of Baosteel Phase III 6A/6B coke ovens involved reconstructing two brand-new 50-hole, 6-metre coke ovens at the original 6A and 6B sites. This pioneering initiative represents the first instance of concurrent production and on-site modification for 6-metre coke ovens at Baosteel.

The project's full commissioning significantly enhances Baosteel's supply capacity for premium raw materials and fuels, making a substantial contribution towards the company's achievement of ultra-low emission standards and its dual carbon goals.
